Ronaldinho was born on 21 March 1980 in Porto Alegre. A Brazilian footballer, Ronaldinho was a creative attacking midfielder admired for his dribbling, free kicks and joyful style of play. He rose from Gremio in Porto Alegre to Paris Saint-Germain and then Barcelona, where he led the club to a return to success, winning the Champions League in 2006. He was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and won the Ballon d'Or in 2005. He was also a member of the Brazil team that won the 2002 World Cup. Later in his career he played for AC Milan and in Brazil and Mexico, and he retired in 2018.
