Birth of Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton was born on 17 February 1981 in New York City. An American media personality and businesswoman, Hilton is a great-granddaughter of the founder of the Hilton Hotels chain and became well known in the early 2000s as a socialite and as the star of the reality television series The Simple Life, with Nicole Richie. She turned her fame into a business empire of fragrances, accessories and licensing deals, and has worked as a disc jockey and recording artist. In more recent years she has used her platform to speak about abuse in youth treatment facilities, which she says she endured, and advocated for legislation to protect children.
