Series of conflicts in which Imperial Germany expanded its Kamerun colony by conquering parts of the Sokoto Calipahte (principally the Adamawa Emirate) and other areas north of its colonial holding, and the subsequent native uprisings. It began in January 1899 in what is now Cameroon and lasted until August 1907 (about 9 years). The setting was Adamawa. Those involved included the German Empire, the British Empire and the Sokoto Caliphate.
