The 2025 Bondi Beach shooting was a mass shooting that took place at Bondi Beach in Sydney during a public Hanukkah celebration. Gunmen opened fire on people gathered at the event, and many people were killed or wounded in what Australian authorities treated as a terrorist attack directed at the Jewish community. The shooting caused deep shock in a country with strict gun laws and was followed by tributes, vigils and political debate about security and antisemitism. It prompted discussion of further changes to firearms regulation and to the protection of religious gatherings. Details of the investigation and the full toll should be checked against official sources.
