Grok is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI, the company founded by Elon Musk. It was introduced to a limited group of users on the social network X, formerly Twitter, and was marketed as having a witty, rebellious personality and access to real-time information from the platform. Its first version was based on a large language model trained by xAI, and later versions improved its reasoning, coding and image abilities. The chatbot has been integrated into X for paying subscribers and later made available more widely. It has also attracted controversy over some of its outputs, including offensive or inaccurate responses and concerns about content moderation.
