On 29 June 1958 in Stockholm, Brazil beat host Sweden 5-2 in the final of the World Cup, its first title, with two goals by the 17-year-old Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pele, who became the youngest player to win and to score in a World Cup final. With the dribbling of Garrincha, the passing of Didi and a new 4-2-4 formation, Brazil won tournament fans with its 'jogo bonito'. Pele won two more World Cups, in 1962, though he was injured, and in 1970, and scored over 1,200 goals in his career, playing for Santos and the New York Cosmos. He died in 2022.
