John McCain died on 25 August 2018 in Cornville, aged 81. An American politician and naval officer, McCain was born into a family of admirals at a naval base in the Panama Canal Zone and became a navy pilot. In 1967 his plane was shot down over North Vietnam and he spent more than five years as a prisoner of war, enduring torture.
