Creation of Android 12

Android 12 is the twelfth major version of Google's Android mobile operating system. It introduced Material You, a design approach that adapts the interface colours to the user's wallpaper, along with larger widgets, new animations and a redesigned notification area. It strengthened privacy with an indicator that shows when apps use the camera or microphone, a privacy dashboard that shows which apps accessed sensitive data, and approximate location sharing. The first developer preview came out in the early part of the year, and the stable release followed later, first on Google's Pixel phones and then on devices from other manufacturers. It was followed by Android 12L, a version for foldable phones and tablets.
