Nancy Reagan was born on 6 July 1921 in Sloane Hospital for Women. An American actress and First Lady, Nancy Reagan was the wife of Ronald Reagan, the fortieth president, and served in that role from 1981 to 1989. A former film actress, she was a major influence in her husband's White House, and was criticized in the early years for her expensive tastes. She led the Just Say No anti-drug campaign aimed at children and, after the president's diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease, became an advocate for research on stem cells. She cared for her husband during his long illness, and later supported the Reagan Presidential Library.
