Flemish painter (1526–1569). Pieter Brueghel the Elder was born in 1525 in what is now the Netherlands. Pieter Brueghel the Elder is remembered as a painter, printmaker and draftsperson, a citizen of Duchy of Brabant. Notable works include “Two Chained Monkeys”, “Dull Gret” and “The Peasant Dance”.
